The Church of Scotland is Presbyterian in style which means that every parish has a Kirk Session.
In Dunkeld there are 22 elders who, along with the minister, form the Kirk Session.
It meets six times a year with extra meetings if required and has oversight of all the work of the parish church. Within the Session there are four working groups:
- Worship, chaired by the minister, which plans occasional services for special occasions.
- Mission and Education – which does various things in the community to raise the profile of the congregation and spread the Gospel. Fixed points in its activities are events such as Santa Claus day in the Duchess Anne (usually the 2nd Saturday in December)
- Pastoral Care Group – Amongst other things it has prepared welcome information to take to new people in the parish, arranges visitors for housebound folk and distributes a small Christmas gift to people in homes and hospitals over the festive season.
- Fabric and Finance, which, as the name suggests, is responsible for the financial side of the congregation, and care and maintenance of the property owned by congregation.
