Welcome to the Dunkeld Cathedral Pilgrimage Group. This summer we are hoping to offer a series of guided spiritual reflective walks around the Dunkeld area. These walks are an opportunity to leave the hurly burly of everyday life behind, be still, and reflect on the beauty of God’s creation that lies all around us.
The walks will have times for reflection, times for silence, and times to enjoy talking with others.
We encourage interested groups to get in touch using the form below and we can then arrange a suitable date, usually between April and September, to take you on one of our two guided walks.
If you have a church group, these pilgrimmage walks are a great opportunity to share time together away from church life and have a chance to relax, reflect and be restored by the peace and beauty of this place.
The start and end point will be the Cathedral grounds.
We usually offer tea and coffee and a chance for fellowship at the end of the group walk.
There are currently two guided walks, one long and one short :
St Colmes Well
The St Colmes Walk lasts approximately 2.5-3 hours. The route takes in woodland paths (one short section is a hilly ascent and descent), a small loch, an ancient well and river paths, before returning to the Cathedral. The terrain can be muddy so sensible walking shoes are recommended.

Birnam Oak
This walk of about one and a half hours hugs the river along to the Birnam Oak, taking in the Orchard and St Mary’s Church in Birnam. This walk is less strenuous which starts and finishes in the cathedral grounds.
How do I book?
