Restoration Project
Do you need support to live well at home?
Welcome to the Parish of Dunkeld Church of Scotland, incorporating Dunkeld Cathedral, Little Dunkeld Kirk and Amulree. All people and all ages are welcome to join with us in worship.
For younger families we have bean bags and toys which can be played with at the back of the church or taken to the pews, to help amuse our younger members, should they find the sermon less engaging!
Cathedral Hours
From April to September the Cathedral and grounds are open every day from 9:30am to 5.30pm. From October to March the Cathedral and grounds are only open from 10am to 4pm.
The Cathedral is a working building and we ask all visitors to respect any signage that restricts access to areas.
The Cathedral grounds are private land. There may be occassions when the grounds have to be closed or visitors are asked to leave. If requested, we ask that you kindly respect any instructions from our staff and Historic Environment Scotland.
Please take extra care when walking on the paved paths when they are wet, as they can be slippery.

Cathedral Audio Tour
Enjoy our audio tour of the Cathedral. At key points within the Cathedral you will find QR codes which you can scan to hear or read dramatised stories which tell of the people and history associated with this ancient building. We hope this will provide visitors with both an entertaining and informed insight into this most ancient of Christian sites, from its founding in the 6th century right up to the modern day.
Cathedral Prayers and Reflections
For those who come to the Cathedral and wish to enjoy the peace and tranquility of this ancient place, we have created a short tour of the cathedral comprising reflections and prayers. Written by members of our church family each piece highlights an area within the cathedral and grounds, or reflects on the history and peoples of this place, to draw parallels and lessons for our own journeys of faith. Choir of Dunkeld Cathedral Restoration Project
We are in the early stages of a £4.2m restoration project to the Choir of Dunkeld Cathedral. This is a huge undertaking for the Parish of Dunkeld. Our Finance and Fabric committee are working with various funders and trusts to raise grants. We are also grateful to the ‘Friends of Dunkeld‘ who are assisting with raising funds locally.

Our Church Plan
We are excited to share our plans for the coming year. In these pages, you will discover not just a financial plan but a testament to the joyous spirit that defines our shared journey of faith and our stewardship of resources.
The story of Christianity in Dunkeld stretches all the way back to the 6th century, when a group of missionaries came from Iona to create a base from which they could share the joyful news of Christ throughout central Scotland.
Like those first missionaries, we too seek to share God’s story of love, joy, service and faith.
As you read the story of our life and work as a church, we hope that you will feel inspired to support us financially as part of our Giving to Grow initiative, and help to continue the legacy of Christianity in Dunkeld.
